9 Big-Budget Bollywood Films That Bombed At The Box Office In 2025

Bollywood Flop Movies In 2025: The year 2025 proved to be a rollercoaster for the film industry. While a few films performed strongly at the box office, several high-budget projects ended up being major disappointments. Despite star-studded casts, aggressive promotions, and massive pre-release hype, audiences largely rejected these films once they reached cinemas.

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood’s directorial venture Fateh was among the notable failures. Made on a budget of Rs 30 crore, the film managed to earn only Rs 17 crore at the box office after its January 10, 2025 release.

Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, which hit theatres on January 17, also failed to live up to expectations. With a production cost of Rs 60 crore, the film collected just Rs 17 crore domestically, while its international earnings stood at Rs 22.5 crore.

Released on the same day, Azaad, starring Ajay Devgn, Rasha Thadani, and Aman Devgn, turned out to be one of the year’s biggest flops. Despite launching Bollywood star kids, the film’s storyline failed to connect with audiences. Made on a budget of Rs 80 crore, it earned less than Rs 10 crore at the box office.

Shahid Kapoor’s Deva, released on January 31, was heavily promoted but underperformed at the cinemas. The film, made on a budget of around Rs 55 crore, collected only Rs 35.1 crore.

Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan’s Loveyapa also failed to make an impact. Released in both Hindi and Tamil on February 7, the film reportedly had a budget of Rs 50 crore but earned just around Rs 10-12 crore.

The romantic comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi, starring Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh, was released on February 21, 2025. Despite its star cast, the film failed at the box office, earning only about Rs 11.8 crore worldwide against a budget of Rs 60 crore.

Rajkummar Rao’s Maalik, released on July 11, 2025, became one of the weakest performers of his career. The film, made on a budget of Rs 54 crore, managed to collect just Rs 28.1 crore worldwide.

Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 also struggled at the box office. Despite a large ensemble cast, the film earned only Rs 44.9 crore, while its budget was reportedly Rs 130 crore. It released on August 1.

Son of Sardaar 2 clashed with Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Dhadak 2, but neither film stood out. Dhadak 2, made on a budget of Rs 60 crore, collected only around Rs 25 crore.
