‘Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire’ has managed to earn in double digits on its opening day in India. The film collected close to Rs 14 crore, according to early estimates, on its first day. With that, it has become one of the biggest Hollywood openers in India, falling just behind ‘Avatar: The Way of the Water’.
‘Godxilla X Kong: The New Empire’ managed to open in double digits, a feat that even Tabu, Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Crew’ could not achieve. Despite the release of Indian films like ‘Crew’ and ‘Aadujeevitham’ aka ‘The Goat Life’, the film surpassed their collection and opened to Rs 13.80 crore.
It also surpassed the collection of Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission Impossible 7’, which opened to Rs 12.50 crore on Day 1, and also ‘Fast X’, which opened around Rs 13 crore in India.

IndiaToday gave the film 4 stars. The review reads, “‘Godzilla x Kong’ is a collab you would never have expected to deliver on such a big scale. The climax is a riot, and there will be a lot of hooting and cheering when you watch your favourite creatures battle it out. Definitely one of the strongest competitors in the franchise, ‘Godzilla x Kong’ is a must-watch.”
The film has been directed by Adam Wingard.
