Let’s face it, ever since Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian Hurley announced his directorial debut with the thriller, Strictly Confidential, people have been wildly uncomfortable with one aspect of it: that he directed some rather racy scenes starring his mother.
In case you don’t know what scenes people are talking about, here’s the full trailer below:
Despite both of them claiming it felt fine, safe, and normal, Damian”https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/damian-hurley-interview-elizabeth-i-steal-mums-leather-trousers-all-the-time-b323rnx5l” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener nofollow” >The Sunday Times, Damian divulged that there were no intimacy coordinators on set, even with that racy scene starring his mother.
He said that “everyone was very comfortable,” so no intimacy coordinators were needed on set. (However, many sets have hired intimacy coordinators to help ensure everyone feels comfortable with each step of the way and on set, something many actors said they wish they had on set).
Damian then went on to say the whole process felt normal. “I hate to say that it felt totally normal. I don’t know what that says about us,{“ he said. “I was speaking to a lot of my friends who are also second generation of parents in the industry. They say exactly the same thing: that things to outsiders that may seem totally strange and extraordinary, for us we’ll just have grown up with in everyday life.”
Now, when DailyMail posted the story, the comment section blew up, to say the least. There are over 1,000 comments and counting, with many calling out how strange they find this matter. One reader wrote, “That’s just beyond creepy. I have a daughter born on the same exact day as Damien and we have a great relationship but never in a million years would either of us be like this.” Another reader wrote, “”I’m sorry but this is a very strange relationship. My son and I do not act like this….”
Damian is Elizabeth’s only son, whom she welcomed in April 4, 2002 with Steve Bing.
While he’s acted on a couple of projects, this film is his directorial debut. The film follows a woman trying to find the secrets of her friend’s life after her untimely death.
