Summary
- “No body, no crime” & “Seven (Interlude)” are still missing from Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) on Disney+.
- The HAIM duet from evermore and spoken word rendition of “seven” from folklore did not make the cut in the previous theatrical and VOD releases either.
- The decision to continue to omit these songs in the Disney+ version may have been to maintain consistency in the concert experience and avoid potential confusion.
Although Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) claims to show the entire concert for the first time, but two songs are still missing from the Disney+ version. In October 2023, Taylor Swift brought her enormously successful Eras Tour to theaters with a larger-than-life concert experience. Sadly, several songs were cut from The Eras Tour movie to shorten the runtime, but when it was made available to rent on demand, the VOD version included three of these previously cut songs: “The Archer” from Lover, “Long Live” from Speak Now, and “Wildest Dreams” from 1989.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)
is now available to stream on Disney+.
In addition to these previously cut songs, “cardigan” was also included in Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) on Disney+, along with four extra surprise songs from the acoustic set. “Maroon,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” and “You Are In Love” were confirmed as three of the bonus acoustic songs ahead of time, and the last was revealed to be “I Can See You” upon release. It may include eight more songs than the theatrical version, but two songs that were filmed for the concert movie are still missing from Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) on Disney+.
The studio recording of “Long Live (Taylor’s Version)” played during the credits of
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour
in theaters, but the live performance was not included.
9 Ways Watching Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour On Disney+ Will Be Different From Theaters
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is coming to Disney+, and the experience of watching the concert movie on streaming will be different than in theaters.
“No Body, No Crime” & “Seven (Interlude)” Are Still Missing From The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)
The HAIM duet and pre-recorded spoken word rendition of “seven” are not in the Disney+ version
Sister rock band HAIM was one of the opening acts for a few dates on The Eras Tour, including the first three stops at SoFi Stadium in L.A. during which The Eras Tour movie was filmed. At these shows, Swift swapped out “’tis the damn season” from the set list and performed “no body, no crime” with HAIM during the evermore era instead. Although it would’ve been filmed, Swift’s and HAIM’s duet of “no body, no crime” was not included in the theatrical or VOD releases of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and still does not appear in the Disney+ version.
Evermore
is Taylor Swift’s ninth studio album and serves as a “sister”
album to
folklore.
Less than five months after
folklore
‘s release in July 2020, Swift made another surprise announcement on December 10 that
evermore
would be released the following day.
The other “song” from her L.A. shows that was excluded from all three versions of The Eras Tour movie is “Seven (Interlude),” a pre-recorded, spoken word rendition of “seven,” the nostalgia-soaked song about childhood friendship from folklore. At every show on The Eras Tour, “Seven (Interlude),” in which Swift recites some of the lyrics of both “Wildest Dreams” and “seven” as a poem, plays at the beginning of the folklore era. All the transitions between eras from the live concert were shortened for The Eras Tour movie, but instead of just trimming it down, “Seven (Interlude)” was cut altogether.
Not Even The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) Restored The Movie’s Most Surprising Cut Taylor Swift Song
After already being cut from the theatrical and VOD releases, a hit song is still missing from Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour on Disney+.
Why “No Body, No Crime” & “Seven” Were Cut From All 3 Versions Of The Eras Tour Movie
Neither of these songs appear in the theatrical or VOD releases either
If Swift wanted
The Eras Tour
movie to feel like a comprehensive, universal experience of the concert, including a duet she doesn’t regularly perform on The Eras Tour would have ruined that illusion.
The fact that “no body, no crime” is not part of the regular set list may be the reason why Swift cut HAIM from The Eras Tour movie. If Swift wanted The Eras Tour movie to feel like a comprehensive, universal experience of the concert, including a duet she doesn’t regularly perform on The Eras Tour would have ruined that illusion. The fact that HAIM was one of her opening acts also might have complicated their inclusion in The Eras Tour movie, since it would have felt unfair to Swift’s other opening acts, like Sabrina Carpenter and Phoebe Bridgers.
As for “Seven (Interlude),” considering it’s not a live performance, it may not have played well onscreen. Because it’s the only transition of its kind, including “Seven (Interlude)” in The Eras Tour movie may have risked confusing the audience or losing their attention. It’s not a devastating loss, but “Seven (Interlude)” is essential to setting the hazy, folksy tone of the folklore era at the live shows, so it’s unfortunate that it still didn’t make it into the latest version of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.
