Ever since the first Indian Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, came out in 1981, the film’s plot and its characters have taken us on many adventurous rides. The latest film in the franchise Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has been off to a slow start at the box office, but that doesn’t dampen the spirit of an action-adventure genre lover. And if you identify as one, we’ve got a list of films you might like to watch after watching the newest Indiana Jones.

Harrison Ford has reprised his role of Indiana Jones in the film, which is set in 1969 and has Mads Mikkelsen and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the lead roles, aside from Ford. This is also Ford’s last outing as Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones.

1. National Treasure – Disney+ Hotstar, Apple TV

Benjamin Franklin Gates, played by Nicolas Cage, is a historian and treasure hunter who’s looking for a hidden treasure that is believed to be as old as the United States’ creation and is protected by the Knights Templar. Watch the film to know how Gates, along with his tech-expert friend Riley Poole and Abigail Chase, an archivist at the National Archives, finds the treasure following an exhilarating series of events that include solving multiple riddles and getting ahead of another treasure hunter Ian Howe who intends to use the treasure to his own advantage.

2. Jungle Cruise — Disney+ Hotstar

Released in 2023, the film stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in lead roles. The story revolves around an expedition to find Lágrimas de Cristal tree, the flowers of which can cure sickness, heal the injured, and lift curses. A long time ago, the head of the Puka Michuna tribe that lived in the jungle and used the tree’s flowers to cure the ill had sacrificed his life while protecting the location of the tree from Spanish invaders and cursed them with immortality. Cut to the present time when Dr Lily Houghton, a botanist and researcher, wants to find the mythical Lágrimas de Cristal tree to use its flowers in modern medicine and enlists help from a steamboat skipper who reluctantly agrees to join her on the expedition

Two siblings, Peter and Judy, who move into a new house recently after the death of their parents, find a board game in the attic. The game turns out to be a magical game that takes the players on different adventures inside different worlds. On one of the adventures, the brother-sister duo meets Alan, who’s been stuck inside the game for the last 26 years. Now, they need to win the game in order to get Alan out into the real world.

4. The Road To El Dorado — Netflix

Two men, Tulio and Miguel, cheat in a game of dice and get hold of the map to El Dorado, the lost city of gold. After they are caught, they run away on a ship leaving. When they reach the shore, Miguel spots landmarks of the gold city from the map, and the two discover the lost city where they get mistaken as gods. The animated film didn’t do as well when it was released but has become quite popular today.

5. The Lost City — YouTube, Apple TV+

Loretta Sage, an author who writes romance-adventure novels, is kidnapped by billionaire Abigail Fairfax. Abigail Fairfax has found a lost city on a remote Atlantic island and believes that the island is where a treasure is hidden. Fairfax also comes to know that Loretta’s books are based on the historical research Fairfax did with her archaeologist husband, who’s now dead. Alan Caprison, the book’s cover model who’s promoting the book with Loretta and is also in love with her, sees her getting kidnapped. The two end up on the remote island along with Fairfax. What happens next is for you to see.

6. The Mummy (1999) — JioCinema

In 1926, in Cairo, Jonathan Carnahan and his sister Evelyn took the help of an American adventurer, Rick O’Connell, to locate Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead. Rick O’Connell discovered the city when he was with the French Foreign Legion and took the brother-sister duo there. They meet another group of treasure hunters wanting to explore the city, and the two groups begin the excavation work despite being warned by Medjai, who were sworn to protect it for centuries. During the excavation, they end up awakening a mummy of an Egyptian priest, which unleashes havoc for everyone involved.

7. The Lost City of Z — Amazon Prime Video

A young British officer Percy Fawcett takes a journey to the Amazon rainforest and discovers the remains of an unknown city that was believed to have been covered in gold. When Fawcett informs the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) in London of his discovery, he is dismissed and ridiculed. Years later, Fawcett and his older son Jack leave for the Amazon forest to search for the city.
