Some even pointed out the striking similarities between Deepika Padukone’s look in Kalki and Zendaya’s character in Dune.

Fans defended the makers of Kalki 2898 AD for achieving Hollywood-level aesthetics on an Indian budget.

A few months ago, director Nag Ashwin clarified that Kalki has no resemblance to Dune. He even funnily commented that the presence of sand in both films doesn’t imply Kalki 2898 AD has anything to do with Dune.
