The highly anticipated sequel to Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is set to begin filming soon. Released in December 2023, the film marked the first collaboration between Prabhas and Prashanth Neel. True to its title, the first part was always envisioned as part one of a larger story. The makers confirmed the sequel’s title even before the first film’s release: Salaar Part 2: Shauryanga Parvam. Set in the dangerous city of Khansaar, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire explored themes of friendship amidst a backdrop of violence.

 

Salaar 2 gears up for filming with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in May 2024 in Hyderabad; makers aim December 2025 release: Report

 

According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the production revealed that the past three months have been dedicated to refining the script based on feedback from the first part. The filming will commence with a 10-day schedule in Hyderabad featuring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The source revealed, “Over the last 3 months, Prashanth and his team of writers have enhanced the script of Salaar 2 based on the feedback for the first part and are now all set to take the film on floors by the end of May. The journey takes off with Prabhas and Prithviraj joining in for a 10-day schedule in Hyderabad.”

 

The source further hinted at a major portion of the film being shot this year, with the remaining scenes to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.  Filming locations include Hyderabad and the outskirts of Bangalore. “Prashanth Neel will be shooting for the film in Hyderabad and the outskirts of Bangalore. While Salaar has set up the conflict, the real story begins in Salaar 2 as it’s about the fight between Prabhas and Prithviraj. The politics and inter-character dynamics will also get clarified in the sequel, which rides high on confrontations and action,” the source added.

 

While Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire established the central conflict, Salaar 2: Shauryanga Parvam is expected to delve deeper into the fight between Prabhas and Prithviraj’s characters. The sequel will also provide a clearer picture of the political landscape and character dynamics, with a focus on confrontations and action sequences.

 

Hombale Films aims for a December 2025 release for Salaar 2: Shauryanga Parvam, coinciding with the second anniversary of the first film. The sequel will not only feature the core cast but also introduce new actors from various film industries.
