Movie fans have been buzzing with excitement as film crews took over part of the city center.
On Monday a mysterious funfair appeared overnight in Exchange Flags, then on Tuesday night Hollywood A-listers Natalie Portman and John Krasinski were spotted filming close to St George’s Hall in a vintage convertible sports car.
The ECHO understands the filming is part of the shoot for upcoming heist film, Fountain of Youth, directed by Guy Ritchie. The two actors have been confirmed as stars in the production and filming has been carried out in other locations worldwide.

This afternoon film crews were back near the town hall, as a car chase was filmed outside Exchange Flags. Natalie Portman and John Krasinski were not there, but it appears their stunt doubles may have been – as a very unnerving face mask could be seen inside the car, and on a crew member’s hand.
Filming is reportedly underway until Saturday, May 18, with more sets popping up across the city.
Liverpool Film Office said: “Please be aware that road closures will be in place on Dale Street, Liverpool City Centre between 4am and 11am on Saturday 18th May due to filming.”
ECHO photographers were on the scene of the shoot to capture the key moments. These are some of our favourite images from today’s filming.
