1. THE GARFIELD MOVIE

This time, the pampered, Monday-hating cat finds himself thrust into the great outdoors alongside his canine companion Odie. Their perfectly comfortable life takes a wild turn when Garfield reunites with his long-lost father, Vic, a scruffy streetwise alley cat. Together, the unlikely trio embark on a hilarious and high-stakes escapade. Sony Pictures Entertainment India is releasing The Garfield Movie in cinemas on May 17th, 2024. The film will be available in English, Hindi, and Tamil, with a 3D option for those seeking an even more immersive experience.
2. INSIDE OUT 2
Get ready to dive back into the world of Riley’s mind! Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 revisits our favorite teenager, Riley, just as her headquarters undergoes a significant renovation. To make way for something entirely new, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust – the long-standing emotional team – must adjust to a sudden influx of new Emotions. Their well-oiled operation is thrown into disarray with the arrival of Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke. And it seems Anxiety isn’t the only newcomer. Returning cast members Amy Poehler (Joy), Phyllis Smith (Sadness), Lewis Black (Anger), Tony Hale (Fear), and Liza Lapira (Disgust) lend their voices once again under the direction of Kelsey Mann. Produced by Mark Nielsen, Inside Out 2 opens in theaters on June 14th, 2024.
3. MOANA 2
Set your sails for adventure! Walt Disney Animation Studios sets course for a whole new voyage with “Moana 2.” This epic animated musical reunites us with Moana, Maui, and a brand new crew of seafaring companions. Following an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana is compelled to embark on a journey unlike any she’s ever faced. This daring expedition will take her across the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean and into perilous, uncharted waters. Directed by Dave Derrick Jr., the film boasts music by a star-studded lineup including Grammy®️ winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa’i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina. “Moana 2” sets sail for theaters on November 27th, 2024.
4. DESPICABLE ME 4
Despicable Me 4 ushers in a new chapter for Gru (voiced by Oscar®️ nominee Steve Carrell) and his ever-growing family. Lucy (voiced by Oscar nominee Kristen Wiig) joins Gru alongside their daughters Margo (voiced by Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (voiced by Dana Gaier), and Agnes (voiced by Madison Polan). The family welcomes a new member, Gru Jr., who possesses an undeniable talent for tormenting his dear old dad. As Gru contends with his mischievous offspring, he also faces a new nemesis – Maxime Le Mal, voiced by Emmy winner Will Ferrell. Maxime’s cunning partner-in-crime, Valentina (voiced by Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara), adds another layer of complexity to Gru’s predicament. Forced to go on the run, the entire family must band together to overcome these new challenges. Despicable Me 4 opens in theaters on a release date to be announced.
5. MUFASA: THE LION KING
While not included in the original list, Disney has another exciting animated adventure planned for later this year. Mufasa: The Lion King serves as both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 live-action remake of the beloved classic. Directed by Barry Jenkins and featuring the vocal talents of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, the film delves into the backstory of Mufasa, the noble king of the Pride Lands. Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe. It will arrive in theaters December 20.
