Bridgerton season 3, part 1 is now out, and the world has once again fallen in love with another Bridgerton sibling. This time, it’s Colin Bridgerton, fresh from his adventures abroad, who comes home to discover that the love he wasn’t even looking for was waiting for him in his childhood friend, Penelope Featherington. The friends-to-lovers romance in season 3 of the show culminates in the show’s version of the book’s infamous carriage scene during episode 4 with an orchestra version of a well-known song playing in the background. But what song plays during the Polin sex scene in Bridgerton?
The song that plays during the Polin sex scene in Bridgerton is “Give Me Everything” by Pitbull, featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack, and Nayer. Or, at least, an instrumental version of it. The show has become somewhat famous for its instrumental covers of famous songs, to the point that fans have taken to playing games trying to guess which song could come next. Pitbull, however, was probably not on anyone’s list. Especially not for such a pivotal moment in Colin and Penelope’s love story.
In the book, [SPOILERS FOR ROMANCING MISTER BRIDGERTON] the carriage scene is the moment when Colin finds out Penelope is Lady Whistledown, the scene of their first sexual encounter, and, of course, when Colin proposes marriage to Penelope. Two out of three are true for the show as well, as the show does give Colin and Penelope their first intimate moment in the carriage, to the tune of Pitbull, and as the scene ends and Colin gets down from the carriage, he does indeed ask Penelope “Well, are you going to marry me or not?” But Colin does not find out about Penelope’s Lady Whistedown secret in the scene, which marks a departure from the books.
Bridgerton season 3 part 2 arrives on June 13, 2024.
