Born as Sajid Ali Khan Pataudi on August 16, 1970, Saif Ali Khan is the eldest child of the late cricket legend Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore. His father was the then Nawab of Pataudi. He was born in New Delhi. 

Saif Ali Khan Debut:

Saif Ali Khan followed his mother Sharmila Tagore’s footsteps into the film industry. He was signed as the male lead in Rahul Rawail’s Bekhudi (1992) alongside debutante Kajol. However, after the wrap-up of the first schedule, he was replaced by Kamal Sadanah. A year later, Saif made his debut with Yash Chopra’s Parampara in 1993.

Saif Ali Khan is born to a royal family. He has two younger sisters. Saba Ali Khan Pataudi is away from the limelight. She is the mutawalli (Chief Trustee) of the Auqaf-e-Shahi (Royal Trust) in Bhopal. Soha Ali Khan is an actress. She is married to actor Kunal Kemmu. Saif was previously married to actress Amrita Singh. They reportedly fell in love while shooting for Bekhudi. She was 12 years older than him. Saif and Amrita tied the knot in 1991. They have a daughter, Sara Ali Khan, and a son Ibrahim Ali Khan. After 13 years of marriage, the couple separated in 2004.
