Actor Sonam Bajwa has garnered a significant fan-following with her remarkable performances and charismatic screen presence in Punjabi films. Despite her immense popularity and talent, Bajwa has not yet made a full-fledged entry into Bollywood, which has left many of her fans curious. Recently, she opened up about the reasons behind her decision and emphasized the importance of waiting for the right script.

Speaking to IndiaToday.in, Sonam said, “I am waiting for a good script. See, some films I said no to and then, of late, I have heard from people that many don’t know I live in Mumbai. So they think that since I don’t stay here, I don’t want to work in Hindi films. Having said that, if there is a good script offered to me, I would love to do Hindi films.”

Like many, Bajwa also wants to be part of Bollywood. Her first brush with the Hindi film industry came with a cameo appearance in the 2019 film Bala. Although it was a brief role, it hinted at her potential and left audiences wanting more. Despite this, Bajwa has not yet taken on a major role in Bollywood, a deliberate choice rooted in her desire for quality over quantity.

Sonam said she is open about working in South films as well: “In fact, I would love to work in South films as well. I had worked there years ago and then I came to Punjab and started working there and got very busy. But now I feel that the more languages I work in, the better it is for me. I just want to do good work and whenever it’s meant to be, I would do Hindi films.”

“I would like to work with Ammy in Hindi film as well,” Sonam concluded.

Sonam Bajwa’s acting journey began with her debut in the Punjabi film, Best of Luck, in 2013. Over the years, she has delivered several memorable performances in movies like Punjab 1984, Sardaar Ji, Nikka Zaildar, and Guddiyan Patole.

She is currently busy promoting her upcoming film, Kudi Haryane Val Di. The film stars Ammy Virk and is all set to release on June 14.
