There are a ton of new shows and a few new movies to check out this weekend.

On the feature side, Netflix has the Glen Powell black comedy “Hit Man,” while “Am I OK?” stars Dakota Johnson as a woman who comes out in her 30s.

Fans of real-life drama can check out two new limited series based on true events: “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld,” about the iconic designer, and “Clipped,” about the downfall of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

Reality fans can tune into the premiere of Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s new show chronicling her life after prison or, for something completely different, the first four episodes of the latest season of Netflix’s dating show “Perfect Match.”

Stream ‘Am I OK?’ if you want a dramedy

Dakota Johnson plays a 32-year-old woman who comes out as a lesbian in comedian Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne’s movie, which first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022. Over two years later, it’s finally getting a wider release.

Alt-comedy fans should check out ‘Fantasmas’

Former “Saturday Night Live” writer Julio Torres (known for penning some of the show’s most memorable and absurd sketches, like Emma Stone’s “Wells for Boys” and Ryan Gosling’s “Papyrus”) taps a barrage of guest stars for this comedy that chronicles Torres (playing himself) attempting to track down a lost golden oyster earring in New York City.

You’ll see everyone from Steve Buscemi and Julia Fox to past and current “SNL” cast members like Aidy Bryant and Bowen Yang this season. The first episode is available to stream now.

Or for dark comedy with a touch of romance, watch ‘Hit Man’

Richard Linklater directs Glen Powell, who plays a contractor with the New Orleans Police Department tasked with posing as an undercover hitman to catch the people trying to hire a contract killer. Linklater directs from a script he cowrote with Powell, and it’s all based on a true story.

Or ‘Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up’

“Life After Lockup” follows Gypsy Rose Blanchard after her release.

While the format of this show doesn’t precisely fit under the typical true crime docuseries umbrella, fans of the genre (and anybody who was online in late January 2024 when she was suddenly all over the internet) will already be quite familiar with Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was found guilty of conspiring to kill her abusive mother and sent to prison.

Released after eight years, Lifetime’s immersive series chronicles Blanchard’s new life and how she’s adjusting to her newfound freedom.

Fans of Netflix dating shows should watch ‘Perfect Match’

Netflix has no shortage of dating shows, but “Perfect Match” — which features contestants from the streamer’s larger reality universe coupling up and competing in challenges with the goal of being voted the best match and winning prize money at the end — might be one of the messiest. (At least when “The Ultimatum” isn’t airing.)

Season two features “Too Hot to Handle” alum Harry Jowsey and “Perfect Match” season one winner Dom Gabriel, who incidentally shares a common ex-girlfriend in Georgia Hassarati.

There’s also “Love Is Blind” fan-favorite Jessica Vestal, who will hopefully bless us with some more meme-worthy one-liners.

The animal kingdom is so much more gay than we realized.
