Lingusamy is one of the most successful directors in the South Indian film industry, known for his collaborations with stars in Tamil and Telugu cinema. His last film, the Telugu-Tamil bilingual “The Warriorr” featuring Ram Pothineni, released in 2022, did not perform well at the box office. Over the past two years, Lingusamy has taken a break from filmmaking but has been preparing to announce his next project. According to social media buzz, Lingusamy has started working on the script for his next directorial venture, which is reportedly based on the Ramayana.
Lingusamy has assembled a team of young and experienced writers to develop the script. The team has been working from Kodaikanal, focusing on creating a two-part film. The cast and crew will be finalized once the script is complete.
Recently, Lingusamy has been involved in a dispute with Kamal Haasan over the financial loss incurred from the film “Uttama Villain.” Lingusamy’s production house filed a petition against the legendary actor at the Tamil Film Producers Council. Kamal Haasan had earlier promised to do a film with Lingusamy and his brothers’ production house to compensate for the loss but has not fulfilled this commitment even nine years after the release of “Uttama Villain.”
