The first official trailer for The Union has dropped online, offering a first look at an upcoming spy action comedy-thriller starring 2x Academy Award-nominee Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter, The Departed, Transformers: Age of Extinction) and Academy Award-winner Halle Berry (X-Men: Days of Future Past; John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum; Monster’s Ball) in the lead roles as a pair of high school sweethearts that reconnect decades later when the world is at threat.
As per the synopsis, “Mike (Wahlberg) is happy living a simple life as a construction worker in his native New Jersey – until his long-lost high school sweetheart, Roxanne (Berry), shows up with more on her mind than romance. Knowing he’s the right man for the job, she recruits Mike on a dangerous intelligence mission in Europe that thrusts them back together into a world of spies and high-speed car chases, with sparks flying along the way.“
In addition to Wahlberg and Berry, the supporting cast features Mike Colter (Luke Cage, Men in Black 3, Evil), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, Suicide Squad, Oz), Jessica De Gouw (Arrow, Dracula, The Secrets She Keeps), Alice Lee (Brittany Runs a Marathon, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Take Care), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Little Children), and Academy Award-winner J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Juno, Whiplash).
