Crush 40’s lead singer, Johnny Gioeli, has confirmed that Live and Learn from Sonic Adventure 2 will make an appearance in Sonic 3 at some point, as he’s recently signed a contract for its inclusion in the movie.
From the moment that Shadow made a cameo in Sonic 2’s post-credits scene, it’s been pretty clear that Sonic 3 would be an adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2, the game that introduced us to the edgy hedgehog. While that sounds great on paper, if Sonic 3 has any hope of being a good retelling of Adventure 2, then there’s one thing it absolutely needs – some slamming tracks from Crush 40.

Hyped for its co-op and Chaos Emerald abilities, Sonic Superstars would be a better game without them.
Fans have been begging for Crush 40’s music to make it into the Sonic movies for some time now, but there’s one that they want more than anything else – Live and Learn from Sonic Adventure 2. Well, after hinting that the song was going to make an appearance in the film during the first teaser for Sonic 3, Crush 40’s lead singer, Johnny Gioeli, has outright confirmed that it’ll feature in the movie at some point.
The news of Live and Learn’s fate comes courtesy of Aftermath, who recently had the chance to talk to Gioeli about its inclusion in the Sonic 3 teaser. Seemingly not wanting to keep fans waiting on confirmation, Gioeli simply outright said that he’s signed a contract that allows the song to be in Sonic 3, which all but confirms that it’s going to show up at some point.
“I have indeed signed a deal with Paramount for song placement. How they will use it is strictly up to them. … Paramount now has the legal right to use ‘Live and Learn’ in any manner they feel necessary.”
Sadly, it seems that Crush 40’s involvement stops there, as Gioeli noted that he has no clue what’s going to be done with the song or where it might appear. Although that’s a bit of a shame, it’s a big step forward for the Sonic movies, which have controversially lacked a lot of tracks from the games.
And at the very least, Gioeli seems to just be happy that Live and Learn is going to be in the film for the sake of fans, as he also told Aftermath, “This milestone doesn’t at all feel like it’s for me. It’s for the fans who have supported and endured the wait!”
