The Bear star Molly Gordon has landed her next lead movie role in the new comedy Oh, Hi!

Written and directed by Sophie Brooks, who conceived the story with Gordon, the film centres around a duo whose first holiday together takes an unexpected turn. Production began in New York earlier this month (via Deadline).

“The film centres on Iris (Gordon) and Isaac (Logan Lerman), whose first weekend away as a couple is going so well – until Isaac mentions he didn’t know they were a couple,” reads the official logline for the movie.

“Iris is sure he’s just confused… so she decides to hold him captive until they get on the same page.”

As well as Gordon and Lerman, the indie comedy also stars Drive-Away Dolls actor Geraldine Viswanathan and Search Party‘s John Reynolds.

Brooks and Gordon developed the project alongside producers David Brooks and Dan Clifton. Julie Waters will also produce, with Evan Dyal, Molly C Quinn, Matthew M Welty, Elan Gale, Evan Moore and Justin Brown on board to executive-produce.

Gordon notably plays Claire Dunlap in the hit culinary drama The Bear, which streams on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US.

Last year, the actor starred in Theater Camp, a mockumentary set at a fictional summer camp where the teachers must put on the show of their lives to save the camp’s future.

As well as taking on a lead role, Gordon co-directed the film with Nick Lieberman. The duo also co-wrote the movie alongside Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, who both make cameo appearances in the film.

In our five-star review, Digital Spy praised Theater Camp for its captivating show tunes and running gags, branding it the “funniest comedy of the year”.

Gordon has also lined up a role in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming murder mystery Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie, which follows a bunch of sheep who are secretly intelligent enough to understand humans.

Oh, Hi! doesn’t have a release date yet. The Bear seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US.
