The Wicked movies have confirmed exactly which songs will feature in the first part, as the official soundtrack listing has been announced.
It’s been common knowledge for a while that the first film will comprise the first act of the stage musical, so it’s no surprise that every song from act one is present and accounted for. It also confirms that, amid rumours that the first film could be as long as the entire stage show, no new songs are being added.

The tracklist for the Wicked: Part One movie soundtrack is as follows:
- ‘No One Mourns the Wicked’
- ‘Dear Old Shiz’
- ‘The Wizard and I’
- ‘What Is This Feeling?’
- ‘Something Bad’
- ‘Dancing Through Life’
- ‘Popular’
- ‘I’m Not That Girl’
- ‘One Short Day’
- ‘A Sentimental Man’
- ‘Defying Gravity’
We had previously heard a little bit of ‘Defying Gravity’ in the trailers, but until the release of the ‘Magical Event’ promo today (which you can see at the top of this page), the marketing hadn’t given us the chance to listen to Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and the rest of the star-studded cast‘s take on these classic songs.
It’s been a worrying trend in Hollywood lately, but hopefully this new trailer is start of Wicked movie promo going all-in on it being a capital-M musical.

Hopefully a handful of the songs will be released in full ahead of the film’s release, as the soundtrack is set to drop on the same day (November 22).
Grande recently hit out at people who were criticising her changing how her voice sounds for Wicked, stating: “There is a part of the world that isn’t familiar with what it takes to transform your voice, whether it’s singing or taking on a different dialect for a role or doing a character voice for something.”
Wicked: Part One will be released in cinemas on November 22.
