Dutch sales agent Incredible Film today releases a brand new trailer for the upcoming A New Friend for Tummy Tom, the second film from the animated Tummy Tom film collection.

Based on the bestselling children’s books and produced by Phanta Animation and BosBros., the movies center on the funny, inquisitive, adventurous and slightly mischievous ginger tomcat known as Tummy Tom. Together with his animal friends, he explores the world around him just like a preschooler would.

A New Friend for Tummy Tom takes place on a beautiful, snowy winter’s day, when a new dog on the block turns the lives of Tummy Tom and Cat Mouse upside down. The film’s animation style is authentically hand drawn with ink and watercolor, bringing the charming animal adventure to life.

“We’re delighted to bring Tummy Tom back to the screen, with a special winter film,” says Daniëlle Raaphorst, CEO of Incredible Film. “Tummy Tom’s character has engaged and resonated with preschoolers around the world, and we’re looking forward to more singing, dancing and fun adventures with A New Friend For Tummy Tom!

The first film in the series, Tummy Tom and the Lost Teddy Bear, premiered in cinemas across the domestic Dutch market in June this year, securing more than 125,000 admissions so far. The winter edition, A New Friend for Tummy Tom, is set to arrive in theaters in The Netherlands this December. Crafted for young audiences (2-6 years old), the Tummy Tom film series is designed to introduce preschoolers to their first cinematic experience and each film is written to correspond with the seasons that the film is based around.

The arrival of A New Friend For Tummy Tom has already enjoyed a warm reception in several territories including The Netherlands, France and Belgium, and joins Incredible Film’s slate of high end, live-action and animated content for MIPCOM this month.

Tummy Tom first appeared on The Netherland’s localized Sesame Street television program in 1978, and Dutch publisher Gottmer started publishing the stories created by Jet Boeke in 1983. Since then, millions of Tummy Tom books have been sold around the world.
