The much-anticipated trailer for the upcoming film Lucky Baskhar, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary, was released on October 21. The film paints a vivid picture of Baskhar Kumar’s journey from financial hardship to a life filled with moral dilemmas.

The trailer opens with a nostalgic vibe, setting the stage for a story rooted in the struggles of everyday life. It highlights the stark reality of living on the edge of poverty, showcasing Baskhar as he reflects on his humble beginnings with a monthly salary of just Rs 6,000. However, as the story unfolds, we witness a significant change in Baskhar’s life as he becomes drawn to the allure of wealth. The trailer hints at his willingness to take risks for his family, leading to moral conflicts that challenge his character. “There is nothing wrong with taking as many risks as needed for your family,” he asserts.

Here’s the trailer:

The emotional intensity heightens when his wife, Sumathi, challenges Baskhar’s new attitude, prompting him to declare, “It’s not arrogance; it’s courage.” This exchange reflects the internal struggle that many face when dealing with their desires and responsibilities. Baskhar’s transformation leads to a chilling assertion: “I am not bad; I am just rich,” which captures the film’s main theme: the impact of wealth on personal identity. His claim that “money is more intoxicating than cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs” emphasises the dangerous appeal of financial ambition and how it can corrupt a person.

Set against the busy backdrop of Mumbai, the film suggests various ways Baskhar could accumulate wealth, including stock market dealings, bank fraud, or even smuggling. However, the trailer deliberately keeps these details hidden, inviting viewers to experience the full story in theaters.

Directed by Venky Atluri, Lucky Baskhar is more than just a tale of riches; it explores how wealth can change relationships and self-perception. Produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banner of Sithara Entertainments, with music by GV Prakash Kumar and editing by Naveen Nooli, Lucky Baskhar is set to release on October 31, 2024, and will be available in multiple languages, including Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada.
