Keke Palmer and SZA are ready for One Of Them Days.
Sony Pictures announced the title for the R-rated buddy comedy movie starring the duo that hits theaters Jan. 24, 2025. Lawrence Lamont is directing the TriStar Pictures film from a script by Syreeta Singleton.
A trailer was also released for the project that co-stars Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Patrick Cage and Amin Joseph.
One of Them Days revolves around best friends and roommates Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA), who learn that Alyssa’s boyfriend has squandered their rent money. The duo must scramble to avoid eviction in a race against the clock, while also striving to keep their friendship intact.
Producers include Issa Rae and Sara Diya Rastogi for Hoorae, Deniese Davis for ColorCreative, Charles D. King for Macro Film Studios, James Lopez and Poppy Hanks. Macro Film Studios is also financing the project that counts Singleton as a co-producer. Palmer and Sharon Palmer of Big Boss are executive producers.
The film was developed as part of Sony’s CoCre lab, which was a previous collaboration between the studio and ColorCreative to support ascending, diverse screenwriters in developing original feature ideas.
Palmer previously hosted a 2022 episode of Saturday Night Live that featured SZA as musical guest.
This is SZA’s first acting role, she is still coming off the success of her Grammy-winning album SOS. Palmer is known for films including Nope and Hustlers, and can soon be seen in the heist comedy The Pickup opposite Eddie Murphy and the Aziz Ansari-directed Good Fortune that also stars Seth Rogen and Keanu Reeves.
