Breathtaking action star Keanu Reeves joins the Star Wars franchise in an epic new concept trailer. Fans have long wanted to see the John Wick star portray the fan-favorite character, Revan, and that’s exactly what we get in this footage. Created by YouTube user stryder HD, the concept trailer for Star Wars: Revan – The Old Republic sees Reeves leading as Revan alongside Alexander Skarsgård as Alek a.k.a. Malak, Josh Brolin as Canderous Ordo, Emma Watson as Bastila Shan, Jason Momoa as Cassus Fett, Michael Fassbender as Mandalore the Ultimate, and Djimon Honsou as Jolee Bindo.

The fan-made footage at last adds Reeves to the ever-growing Star Wars franchise, with fans having not only wanted to see the actor as Revan for some time, but also a movie (or series) exploring more of the time of the Old Republic. The character of Revan first appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and has been on both the Light and Dark sides, playing pivotal roles as both a Jedi and a Sith. An enigmatic, complex role that would be perfect for The Matrix star.

As mentioned, fans have been wanting to see Keanu Reeves join the world of Star Wars for some time, with many loving what they see in the concept trailer. “This would be how I get back into star wars,” says disenfranchised fan @Weirdalbingo, with @cpmyers adding, “Hell yeah!! Take my money now!!! This is exactly what would bring back the feeling of real Star Wars.” Lastly, @devynhart6596 praises the footage for taking them right back into Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, saying, “This gave me the same feelings I had when I first played KOTOR as a kid! Intrigue, memorable characters, established lore, Disney needs to take some notes from this.”

Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski will be heavily involved in the upcoming John Wick spin-off projects.
While Reeves has yet to join the franchise for real, the actor is on Disney and Lucasfilm’s radar. The John Wick star very nearly starred in the recent example of Star Wars divisiveness, The Acolyte. Notable insider Jeff Sneider revealed that Reeves was in contention for the role of Jedi master Sol, a character played in the Disney+ series by Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae. While scheduling reportedly stopped Reeves from taking the role (and thus reuniting his The Matrixco-star Carrie-Anne Moss), the report did state that he was “very” interested in the part. The report goes on to claim that “Lucasfilm remains high on the actor, whose interest has been noted internally,” while sources at Lucasfilm have since said that Reeves was never officially offered a part in The Acolyte.
Whatever the truth of this particular matter may be, it’s undeniable that Keanu Reeves would be a crowd-pleasing addition to the Star Wars saga. And with a huge array of projects currently in development, surely the actor and studio will work something out eventually.
