The Rock’s next movie role following his surprise return at the end of the WWE Bad Blood event has been announced.
Following his surprising return in the closing moments of the WWE Bad Blood premium live event on October 5, The Rock has not made another appearance on WWE television, with his status for next year’s WrestleMania event still uncertain.
The Rock is still set to make new movies in his time away, with him recently filming for the upcoming movie ‘Smashing Machine’, as well as his Red Alert Christmas movie set to release soon.
Now, per Deadline, The Rock is set to return for the third instalment of the Jumanji series, set to release on December 11, 2o26.
The Rock is expected to return for his role in the movie, as well as other key cast members Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan.
Per Deadline:
Jumanji 3 is happening on December 11, 2026, Sony has just announced. That’s the same pre-Christmas slot that Sony has launched the previous films in its Jumanji franchise. The movie will have full command of Imax and PLF screens that weekend.
Director Jake Kasdan and star posse Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan are expected to return and are in talks. Also back to produce are Matt Tolmach, Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Kasdan.
Nothing else is dated for that December 2026 frame, but Jumanji 3 opens one week before Disney’s untitled Star Wars movie and Warner Bros/Legendary’s supposed release of Dune 3 on December 18.
