10 Must-See Movies New To Netflix In February 2025

January 31, 20254 Mins Read

This month’s Netflix lineup has something for everyone: a darkly comic class thriller that made Oscar history, a nostalgic sports fantasy that blends animation and basketball, and plenty of romance, laughs and suspense in between. Here’s what to watch this month.

Parasite (2019) – Director: Bong Joon-ho | Stars: Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun

A struggling family infiltrates the lives of a wealthy household, setting off a darkly comic and thrilling chain of events. The first South Korean film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, Parasite redefined global cinema. If you ever feel bad about your living situation, at least your basement isn’t hiding a secret tenant (we hope).

The Nice Guys (2016) – Director: Shane Black | Stars: Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling

A gruff enforcer and a hapless private investigator team up to solve a missing-person case in 1970s Los Angeles. Blending action, comedy, and mystery, this stylish throwback to noir buddy films became a cult favorite.

It (2017) – Director: Andy Muschietti | Stars: Bill Skarsgård, Jaeden Martell

A group of outcast kids in small-town Maine face off against an ancient evil that takes the form of Pennywise the Clown. Before Bill Skarsgård was Nosferatu, he was Pennywise the Clown in one of the highest-grossing horror films of all time, revitalizing Stephen King adaptations for a new generation.

Magic Mike XXL (2015) – Director: Gregory Jacobs | Stars: Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer

Retired stripper Mike reunites with his crew for a road trip to one last, epic dance convention. A rare sequel that surpasses the original, it leans into joy, camaraderie, and absurdly impressive dance moves.

Queen & Slim (2019) – Director: Melina Matsoukas | Stars: Daniel Kaluuya, Jodie Turner-Smith

A couple’s first date takes a tragic turn when they kill a police officer in self-defense and flee across the country. A searing social commentary wrapped in a romantic road thriller, it became one of the most talked-about films of its time.

Spanglish (2004) – Director: James L. Brooks | Stars: Adam Sandler, Paz Vega

A Mexican housekeeper takes a job with a neurotic upper-class American family, navigating love, culture, and chaos. Showcasing one of Adam Sandler’s most restrained performances, this heartfelt dramedy explores family dynamics with nuance. The film’s most enduring legacy? Teaching audiences the correct way to assemble the perfect sandwich.

Space Jam (1996) – Director: Joe Pytka | Stars: Michael Jordan, Wayne Knight

When aliens challenge the Looney Tunes to a basketball game, they recruit NBA legend Michael Jordan to help them win. Remember when blending live action and animation felt this cool? Michael Jordan saving the universe with a dunk is impressive, but Bill Murray showing up for no reason is legendary.

Happy Feet (2006) – Director: George Miller | Stars: Elijah Wood, Robin Williams

A young penguin named Mumble struggles to fit in with his singing colony—until his tap-dancing skills save the day. A winner for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, the film cleverly weaves environmental themes into a visually stunning package.

Two Weeks Notice (2002) – Director: Marc Lawrence | Stars: Sandra Bullock, Hugh Grant

A dedicated lawyer tries to quit working for her charming but needy billionaire boss—only to realize she may have feelings for him. A classic rom-com powered by Bullock and Grant’s effortless chemistry. And a reminder that if your boss calls you 50 times a day, it’s either a romance waiting to happen or an HR complaint in the making. (Caution: Not suitable for sticklers for correct grammar in movie titles.)

The Wedding Planner (2001) – Director: Adam Shankman | Stars: Jennifer Lopez, Matthew McConaughey

A meticulous wedding planner falls for the groom of one of her clients, throwing her personal and professional life into chaos. A box office hit, it cemented Jennifer Lopez as a romantic-comedy star in the early 2000s.
