Anubhav Sinha, the seasoned director of Bollywood who is more known for his controversies than movies recently discussed some of the important highlights of his journey in Bollywood. Not surprisingly, he has worked with some of the best including Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkummar Rao . There is no doubt that SRK has taken a lot of risks as a producer. Be it Asoka, Swades, or Paheli, his home production house Red Chillies Entertainment has experimented with myriad genres.

Shah Rukh Khan launched Ra.One globally in Dubai, London

And one such genre that Shah Rukh Khan wanted to try was that of a superhero. While Krrish starring Hrithik Roshan was released before Ra.One, it did not exactly matched the concept of the superhero. So SRK and his production team hired Anubhav Sinha for Ra.One as the director and used the best technology possible to come out with a technically sound action drama.

But the movie failed. Narrating his experience of working with SRK for Ra.One, Anubhav Sinha during his recent interview said, “Woh Shah Rukh Khan hai na bhai. Usne aisa jalwa create kiya tha. Ki yahan se gaye Dubai. Dubai mein premiere hua. Premiere se hum seedhe ek choti si party thi hum karke airport gaye. Phir wahan se London gaye. Puri time mein hum ulta travel kar rahe the. We were gaining hours.”

“London mein gaye. London mein premiere hua. Phir Toronto gaye. Toronto mein premiere hua. Toronto se nikale phir LA gaye. LA mein premiere hua. LA se Shah Rukh nikal gaya aur main ruk gaya. Film ka dusra hafta chalu tha toh ye samaz mein aa gaya tha ki film waisi nahi jayegi jaisi sochi gayi thi,” he said.

A part of Bollywood wanted SRK to fail- Anubhav Sinha

Anubhav Sinha was very upset with the response and decided to take a break in London and ask Kishore Lulla why the movie did not work. At that time Blackberry messengers were used a lot and so many vile messages were sent about Ra.One on these instruments. While as a director he accepted that the film was weak but according to Anubhav Sinha it was liked by 50% of people.

Next the Mulk director made a shocking statement saying, “Lekin ek Woh daur tha jab mera aisa manana hai ki bada tabka tha within the film industry jo Shah Rukh Ko girte hue dekhana chahta tha. Mera aisa manana hai aur main kafi samay raha hoon industry mein. Aur main iss industry ko kafi acche se janta hun.”
