Mufasa: The Lion King is now available to watch at home for anybody wishing to become immersed in the Pride Lands.
The Disney film, which serves as both a prequel and sequel to 2019’s The Lion King, sees Kiara (Blue Ivy Carter) – the daughter of Simba (Donald Glover) and Nala (Beyoncé) – tell the story of how her grandfather, Mufasa (Aaron Pierre), came to rule the lands.
After grossing over $680 million – and counting – during its theatrical run, Mufasa: The Lion King is now available to buy or rent from Prime Video, Apple TV, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers in the UK.
In the US, you can buy or rent Mufasa from Prime Video, Apple TV and more.

If the big screen is more your thing, then Mufasa: The Lion King is still playing at selected cinemas across the country, though we don’t envisage it will remain there much longer given it’s now been nearly two months since its original release.
So if you can’t wait for its streaming release on Disney+ then you know where to head!
You can also pre-order Mufasa: The Lion King on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD ahead of its release in the UK on March 31.
There’s also a limited-edition 4K Steelbook available to buy, which will be released on the same day.
Whilst Mufasa: The Lion King opened to mixed reviews from critics, the film has proved to be a hit with general audiences, with several describing the musical as “wonderful”, “immersive” and “cute” with a “great storyline”.
Ahead of the movie’s theatrical release back in December, director Barry Jenkins praised Carter – the daughter of co-star Beyoncé – for her performance as Kiara, sharing that the film would be a “beautiful time capsule” for the pair.

“She [Carter] did an absolutely amazing job,” said Jenkins. “She just felt like this really curious young person. Watching [Beyoncé] coexist with her daughter, and just how lovely, gentle and encouraging she is was really special.
“I think it bled into the performances they gave as well. I think this will be this really beautiful time capsule for the two of them, at this moment when they get to share this part of their relationship as these characters.”
Mufasa: The Lion King is in cinemas and is also available to buy or rent from Prime Video, Apple TV, Microsoft Store and more in the UK.
