Following the success of his last film Gladiator 2, actor Pedro Pascal is switching gears for his next movie, with action comedy Freaky Tales. The trailer released on Tuesday (February 18) and promises to be a fun and wild ride for viewers.
The official logline of the film reads: “Set in 1987 Oakland, Freaky Tales is a multi-track mixtape of colorful characters — an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teen punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector — on a collision course in a fever dream of showdowns and battles.
“Executive produced by hip-hop pioneer Too $hort, and featuring an all-star ensemble including Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn, Jay Ellis, Normani, Dominique Thorne, Jack Champion, Ji-young Yoo, Angus Cloud, and Tom Hanks. This pulpy blend of explosive action, edgy humor, gory kills, and sly twists and turns makes for one wild ride.”
As fans watched the trailer, they realised one emotional and poignant detail as Freaky Tales marks Euphoria star Angus Cloud’s final on-screen appearance.
The much-loved actor was found dead in his family’s home in Oakland, California on July 31 2023 following an accidental multiple drug overdose.
Fans of the late actor flocked to the comments section on YouTube to express their reactions to seeing Angus and it’s safe to say they were left emotional. One emotional fan commented: “It sucks so hard that Angus Cloud passed away.”
Another person expressed: “My boy Angus – always a little skip of the heart when he shows up unexpectedly in a trailer, loved that guy.”
Somebody else commented: “I’m blown away that Angus cloud is in this, I thought Abigail would have been his last movie. RIP.” Yet another wrote: “Damn Angus was gonna be in everything. I’m sad he passed before his talent was really recognised.”
A fifth heartbroken fan said: “Blessed to see Angus Cloud one last time. Rest In Heaven Angus.”
While a sixth added: “I’m so happy to see Angus on-screen one final time, RIP Angus.”
Freaky Tales premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 18 2024 and is scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on April 4.
It’s been a long wait for fans as the film was initially announced back in August 2022, with filming beginning in November 2022 and ending in January 2023.
