The Congress Theatre in Cwmbran will be hosting performances of the classic tale, Beauty and the Beast, on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.

The production is headlined by Wales’ number one comedian and BBC Radio Wales icon, Owen Money.

The familiar tale of the cruel prince transformed into a beast, and the beautiful girl who holds the key to breaking his curse, is sure to captivate audiences young and old.

The production company says the show is “an entertaining, fun-packed, joke-crammed, song-filled, fast-moving show that will appeal to the whole family.”

The Biofluorescent Nature Night, organised by Chloe from Gourmet Gatherings in collaboration with Reveal Nature’s David Atthowe, offers a unique exploration of the oldest forest in Wales.

Participants will start the evening with a warm meal of soup and focaccia before setting out with UV torches and special goggles to discover the biofluorescent wonders of the forest.

The event promises to reveal the hidden secrets of the forest’s fauna, flora, and fungi, providing a new way to connect with nature.

Tickets are priced at £50 each, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the upkeep of Wentwood Forest.

The club, located at 25 Bridge Street in Usk, will be showing a classic movie on the last Sunday of each month.

The film for each screening will be decided by a vote on social media, with suggestions welcomed from attendees.

Entry is free, as is the popcorn, making it a perfect way to end the weekend.
