Love or romance is one of the most important aspects of one’s life and Bollywood has been presenting it gloriously for ages.

Bollywood has indeed become synonymous with romance, and there have been many iconic scenes in Hindi movies that support the claim.

The best romantic scenes in Bollywood movies

1. Gunja-Chandan’s banter

In the 1982 blockbuster Nadiya Ke Paar, we see a playful chemistry between Gunja (Sadhana Singh) and Chandan (Sachin Pilgaonkar) filled with banter.

In one of the scenes, we see Chandan requesting Gunja to wear a bindi. It is a simple yet beautiful scene which is widely loved.

Their romance finally ends in marriage.

3. Padmavati stitches Raja Rawal’s turban

Before meeting Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh), Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) stitches Raja Rawal Ratan Singh’s (Shahid Kapoor) turban, and their intense eye contact is just mesmerising.

Padmaavat was based on the epic rivalry between Raja Rawal Ratan Singh and Alauddin Khilji. It was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

4. Inder and Saru’s moments

Inder (Harshvardhan Rane) promises Saru (Mawra Hocane) that he will plant a tree on her grave, and whenever the flowers bloom, they will remind him of Saru.

This scene has become iconic, and despite a tragic ending, the film turned out to be the highest re-release collector.

5. Shah Rukh asks for tea

In the movie Dil Se…, Shah Rukh Khan asks Manisha Koirala’s character, “Main aapke liye kya kar sakta hoon? Kuchh bhi”

To this, Manisha Koirala replies, “Bas ek cup Chai.”

6. Bunny abandons his trip

In the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) promises Naina (Deepika Padukone) that he will always prioritise her.

In the climax, even Naina was not expecting him to abandon his work trip, but he did. Bunny returned home to celebrate New Year’s Eve with Naina.

7. Laila returns

In the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Laila (Katrina Kaif) teaches the real meaning of life to Arjun (Hrithik Roshan) and they eventually fall in love.

8. Qais faints, literally!

In the movie Laila Majnu, Laila comes to meet Qais after many years, and after seeing her, Qais faints!

10. OK hooked to Shantipriya

In the movie Om Shanti Om, there is an iconic scene where we see Shantipriya’s (Deepika Padukone) Pallu getting hooked to Om’s cuffs.

Their love eventually turns intense after Jodhaa finds out that Akbar permitted a temple inside the Mughal fort.
