THIS Hollywood star burst onto the scene in the mid-80s and impressed movie goers so much she was nominated for an Oscar.
However, the actress, now 74, is probably best known for her roles in iconic movies, Uncle Buck and Field of Dreams
The actress in question is 80s and 90s star Amy Madigan.
She first got her taste of the big time when she was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the 1985 film Twice In A Lifetime.
Over the years Amy has continued to work, and she even starred in Netflix’s Grace and Frankie.
She is also known for her work in theatre, and has appeared on Broadway and in London’s West End.

UNCLE BUCK FAME
However, Amy is perhaps best known for starring in the 80s movie Uncle Buck.
She co-starred alongside the late John Candy, who took on the titular role, and a VERY young Macaulay Culkin, who played Buck’s cheeky young nephew.
The film was a huge hit in 1989, and followed the lead character Uncle Buck as he tried to look after his brother’s wild children.
Sadly lead actor John died in 1994, leaving the cast devastated.
Recalling working with the late star, Amy previously told Vanity Fair: “I had not met him before Uncle Buck.
“Of course his reputation preceded him—all the hilarious stuff he’d done.
“We just kind of hit it off. We had a great time. He was the king of ad libs.
“He and John Hughes had worked together before, so they had a really neat shorthand.”
Continuing, she said: “It was sometimes all I could do to keep a straight face since he was just so hilarious.
“You would be doing a closeup, so the other actors are off camera, and he would just throw this stuff at you to crack you up.”
FIELD OF DREAMS STAR
Amy is also known for co-starring in Kevin Costner’s iconic Field of Dreams, where she played his wife, Annie.
The movie was a big hit in the late 80s, and was known for it’s famous line, “If you build it he will come”.
However, in an unearthed interview with Amy, she talked about her “frustration” at often getting cast as “the wife”, as the male Hollywood actors took the leading roles.
In Field of Dreams – which is about a farmer who builds a baseball field in his cornfield that attracts the ghosts of baseball legends – she plays Annie, the spouse of Kevin’s Ray Kinsella.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times in 1989, she said: “Playing the wife or the girlfriend is frustrating.
“Some days I do get the blues and think if I was a bigger name and had some more power, maybe they’d let me do that part.
“But there is always going to be somebody else’s name on somebody’s list in somebody’s office.”
MARRIED TO A HOLLYWOOD LEGEND
Amy is happily married to her husband of over 40 years, Ed Harris.
Much like his wife, he is a Hollywood star who is known for films like Apollo 13 and The Truman Show.
The couple started dating in 1980, after she went to see him in the play Cowboy.
Speaking about their romance, Amy told Life magazine in 1985 that for her, it was “love at first sight”.
“It was like something you see in a movie or hear in a song. I just thought, ‘Well, there he is.’ It was obvious to me that I’d see him again,” she said.
The couple wed in 1983, and have been happily married ever since.
