Ryan Gosling to star, Shawn Levy to direct new ‘Star Wars’ movie
Ryan Gosling will star in “Star Wars: Starfighter,” directed by Shawn Levy, that takes place five years after the events of “The Rise of Skywalker.”
Ryan Gosling is humanity’s last chance for survival in the upcoming film “Project Hail Mary.”
Based on Andy Weir’s epic sci-fi adventure novel, Amazon MGM Studios’ latest movie adaptation stars the three-time Oscar nominee as a middle school teacher who is sent to space as the world comes to an end.
As the trailer posted Monday, June 30 shows, middle school teacher Ryland Grace, played by Gosling, must see if humanity can survive somewhere else in space after the sun and every other star begins to die for unknown reasons. In space, he discovers and befriends an extraterrestrial being he names Rocky.
Despite having no experience as a astronaut, Gosling’s character is understandably out of his depth, telling officials, “I put the not in astronaut. I’ve never done anything. I’ve never done a space walk. I can’t even moonwalk. “
“It’s an insanely ambitious story, expansive in scope,” Gosling said in April during a CinemaCon presentation. “Literally, we tried to put it on a TV once. It didn’t fit.”
Moviegoers can expect to see familiar faces, including Academy-Award nominee Sandra Hüller, “The Bear” actor Lionel Boyce and “Industry” star Ken Leung.
