Following confirmation of Steven Knight’s involvement in the new James Bond movie, the Peaky Blinders creator has shared his reaction to joining the long-running spy thriller franchise. This marks the first time the Knight will be writing the screenplay for a major movie franchise like James Bond.

What should we expect from the new James Bond movie?

During a recent interview with BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast, Knight expressed his excitement for the project, revealing that he has actually been long-time fan of the franchise. In addition, he also teased what James Bond fans can expect from the next 007 movie.

“It has always been on my bucket list and it’s fantastic to be invited to do it — I can’t wait to get started,” Knight said. “I’m hoping that, being a Bond fan for so many years, it will be imbued into me and I will be able to produce something that’s the same but different, and better, stronger and bolder.”

The next James Bond movie will be directed by Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve from a screenplay that will be written by Knight. At the moment, casting speculations about which actor would be chosen to become the next 007 continue to circulate online. Among the popular rumored choices are Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Richard Madden, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Henry Cavill. However, after Villeneuve signed on, Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland, and Harris Dickinson emerged as the three actors who are believed to be at the top of the studio’s list.

Amazon MGM Studios recently obtained creative control over the iconic 007 franchise through a new joint venture deal with James Bond franchise co-owners Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
