Golden Kamuy is a popular seinen title that has amassed a huge fan following. In most cases, anime and manga are only two mediums that fans enjoy, but that isn’t the case with Golden Kamuy. Both the live-action movies and series have been major hits with the fans, which is why Netflix is bringing the latter to its platform.

According to a news report, Netflix has decided to secure the streaming rights to let fans watch the drama series. Golden Kamuy’s drama series will be available to watch on Netflix starting February 6, 2025.

Golden Kamuy’s Live-Action Projects Have Done Well

Golden Kamuy’s live-action series was announced in March 2024. It was titled Golden Kamuy: The Battle for the Hokkaido Tattooed Prisoners Arc. The live-action series has a total of nine episodes, and each episode features a different ending song. Golden Kamuy’s live-action series retained most of the cast members from the movie.

All the actors put on an outstanding performance in the movie, so it’s hardly surprising that they reprised their roles for the live-action series. Golden Kamuy’s live-action series also retained most of the staff from the movie. Kenji Katagiri, Ken Ochiai, Yōsuke Satō, and Shigeaki Kubo served as directors for the series. Tsutomu Kuroiwa wrote the scripts while Yutaka Yamada composed the music. Daisuke Souma was put in charge of the cinematography.

It is also worth noting that the live-action series continues the story from the first movie. So, fans will have to watch it before starting the series. Golden Kamuy’s live-action movie was announced in 2022. It was released in Japanese theaters on January 19, 2024. Netflix picked up the movie and released it worldwide on May 19, 2024.

Golden Kamuy Anime Has One More Season

Golden Kamuy is written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. It began serializing in the Weekly Young Jump in August 2014. After releasing 314 chapters, Golden Kamuy came to an end in April 2022. The manga has sold more than 29 million copies, which is a testament to its popularity.

Golden Kamuy’s anime adaptation in July 2017. The anime aired its first-ever episode in April 2018. The second and third seasons of the anime were released in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Golden Kamuy’s fourth season was released in 2022, which and shortly afterward, a fifth season was announced.
