Warning! Spoilers ahead for My Adventures with Superman #2!A comic that ties in to My Adventures with Superman has given Deathstroke the perfect rival that fans of The Suicide Squad may recall. While Slade Wilson does Amanda Waller’s dirty work, he comes into conflict with this world’s version of Bloodsport, creating a feud that fans are going to see for themselves.
In My Adventures with Superman #2 by Josie Campbell and Pablo Collar, Slade Wilson of Task Force X meets with Robert DuBois, aka Bloodsport, and Team Seven at Mt. Simonson Base to hand control of the facility over to DuBois. However, unbeknownst to DuBois, Wilson begins planting bombs throughout the base.
Wilson triggers an explosion and DuBois realizes Wilson is sabotaging Team Seven for Waller. Bloodsport and Deathstroke begin to fight among the flames and explosions, only stopping when Amazo escapes and Clark Kent arrives on scene to help the automaton run to freedom.
Deathstroke and Bloodsport Develop A Powerful Rivalry in My Adventures with Superman
In the wake of Anthony Ivo’s attack in the first season of My Adventures with Superman, the tie-in series focused on a mysterious being that began terrorizing Metropolis. Clark and his best friends looked into who was wrecking the city, only to discover it was a prototype suit developed by Ivo that had gained consciousness. The ‘Amazo’, as it became known, fought Superman as it struggled to talk, but it eventually figured out how and asked for help. Unfortunately, the automaton was seized by the government agent Dubois as he was secretly being observed by Waller’s top agent Slade Wilson.
Deathstroke is one of the most fearsome fighters in the entire DC Universe. Bloodsport hasn’t had as much time dedicated to his skills, but he’s had a growing presence (no doubt thanks to his role in the DECU). Making the two rivals actually makes for a fun and interesting dynamic. Bloodsport is often portrayed as one of the best shots in the DC Universe while Deathstroke has rarely met someone he couldn’t beat in hand-to-hand combat. While the two haven’t officially met in the Prime DC Universe, this interaction suggests a canon fight could be just as interesting.
DC Needs an Official Deathstroke and Bloodsport Fight As Soon as Possible
While the fight presented here is quite entertaining, it really does beg the question of what would happen if the Prime Deathstroke met Bloodsport. Granted, Deathstroke’s had a lot of rivals and he almost usually comes out on top. But given the rise of Bloodsport as a DC antagonist, it’d be interesting to see them actually battle at least once. My Adventures with Superman had the right idea of bringing these two together, but the one thing that could make things better would be a canon fight between Bloodsport and Deathstroke so neither side needs to hold back.
My Adventures with Superman #2 is available now from DC Comics.
