Rovio Entertainment Corporation, Sega, and Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios are collaborating on the development of “The Angry Birds Movie 3”, with DNEG Animation onboard as the animation partner.
Prime Focus Studios, Rovio, and Sega will co-produce the film alongside One Cool Group, Flywheel Media, and dentsu.
The third installment will continue the adventures of Red and Chuck, reprised by Jason Sudeikis (known for “Ted Lasso”) and Josh Gad (“Frozen”). Expect more casting announcements soon.
Following the global success of the first two “Angry Birds” movies, collectively grossing over half a billion dollars, Sony served as the distribution partner for both films, which were inspired by the beloved game series.
Directed by John Rice (“The Angry Birds Movie”), with Thurop Van Orman (“The Angry Birds Movie 2”) penning the screenplay and also serving as executive producer alongside Toru Nakahara (“Sonic the Hedgehog”), the film will be produced by John Cohen (“The Garfield Movie”), Dan Chuba (“The Mitchells vs. the Machines”), and Carla Connor.
