Our opinion on Black Widow (2022):

Black Widow is a feature-length super-heroic film that’s a far cry from the usual Marvel Studios offerings, closer in narrative terms to the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, with a simple, effective espionage plot that doesn’t turn the genre on its head. Scarlett Johansson’s acting is impeccable as ever, with a character that’s a bit like the one we discovered in Avengers, mischievous and manipulative. Quite enjoyable.

We also appreciate the film’s dense, sustained pace, calibrated to ensure there’s never a shortage of action. The film’s cinematography is interesting and a little cold, but echoes the not-quite-finished “Cold War” atmosphere of the “Red Room”, corresponding to the general mood of the film. A refreshing film that should please fans of the original… And if not, of course, we’ll stay with you until the end credits, as the film features two post-generic scenes, one of which links up with phase 4 of the MCU, which began with the series available on Disney+.
