Treasure Planet (2002)
An animated action film, Treasure Planet puts a creative sci-fi spin on the classic novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. The Disney movie takes place on the mythical planet Montressor and follows the story of Jim Hawkins. Growing up obsessed with the story of space pirate Captain Flint, Hawkins gets to live his childhood dreams when he scours the globe for Flint’s buried treasure. After being given a map from a dying pirate, Hawkins embarks on a quest to find the legendary Treasure Planet.
The Lost City (2022)
It’s not often you can find a treasure-hunting film that’s also a rom-com, but The Lost City is just that plus all-star line-up including Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, and Brad Pitt. Bullock’s character, a romance novelist, goes on a book tour with her cover model, played by Tatum. While traveling, the pair are kidnapped and embark on a jungle adventure to escape.
Jumanji (1995)
A seemingly normal day playing board games takes a turn for two siblings when they suddenly free another kid who has been trapped in the game until adulthood. To keep him free, the kids must win the game of Jumanji, but it means going up against a lot obstacles in the jungle like bugs, rhinos and monkeys. This game-based thriller inspired multiple Jumanji sequels, great for a movie marathon day.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019)
Fans of the classic kids series Dora the Explorer will enjoy this family-oriented action adventure movie. You’ll recognize classic characters like Swiper and Boots as Dora, now a high schooler, goes on an expedition to save her parents in this live-action film.
King Solomon’s Mines (1985)
An explorer joins a beautiful woman on the quest to find her missing archaeologist father who has been kidnapped because of his knowledge of King Solomon’s mines. To save him, the duo must fend off the dangerous challenges they encounter in the wild, which include hostile humans and animals.
The Princess Bride (1987)
The Princess Bride tells the story of a swashbuckling farm worker Westley who ventures out to save his love Buttercup after she becomes betrothed to an evil prince against her will. Along the way he encounters natural challenges (Watch out for an R.O.U.S.), and faces increasingly powerful foes intent on stopping his rescue of the princess. It’s a classic fantasy adventure with fun characters that still holds up today.

The Deep (1977)
Set in Bermuda, this underwater adventure flick follows two treasure hunters who go scuba diving to hunt for precious loot. After finding some shiny jewels and a strange bottle, the pair becomes the target of a drug lord they need to fend off.
National Treasure (2004)
This Nicolas Cage classic follows Benjamin Gates as he searches for a legendary treasure dating all the way back to the origin of the United States. Gates is betrayed by his former collaborator and friend Ian Howe (Sean Bean) after making a major discovery, and has to race Howe and solve several historical puzzles to hunt down a lost Freemason treasure.
The Goonies (1985)
While trying to save their homes from foreclosure, a group of Oregon kids known as “the Goonies,” discover a treasure map. Following the map, the kids head out to find the long-lost fortune of a 17th century pirate. Along with their difficult quest to get to the treasure, the Goonies have to outwit a group of criminals who want the riches for themselves.
