A trailer for a new children’s fantasy adventure film with scenes shot in Lancaster city centre has been released.

Robin and the Hoods stars Naomie Harris, who played Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond films Skyfall, Spectre and No Time to Die, Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Mark Williams (Harry Potter, The Fast Show) and Darcey Ewart as Robin.

The film will air this summer on Sky Cinema.

Last September, Dalton Square was transformed into a medieval village as film crews moved in to shoot scenes for the movie.

Here is an image of Dalton Square from the movie trailer.

A Lancaster City Council spokesperson said: “We were delighted last year to have had the opportunity to help facilitate the filming of some major scenes of the children’s fantasy film, Robin And The Hoods in Lancaster Town Hall and Dalton Square and that the backdrops at these locations were exactly what the production team was looking for.

“The trailer is now out featuring Dalton Square looking quite incredible.”

Robin and the Hoods follows the adventures of 11 year-old Robin and her group of friends who find their beloved playground at risk of being converted into a new leisure facility.

The film is directed by Phil Hawkins from a screenplay by Stuart Benson and Paul Davidson.
