Dhurandhar is one of the most talked-about films of the year, but according to Ram Gopal Varma, it is being “ignored” by a section of the industry that feels threatened by its massive success. Days after sharing his positive review of the Ranveer Singh–led Aditya Dhar directorial, the filmmaker took to social media to claim the blockbuster has left many “worried.” He said Dhurandhar is like a horror movie for filmmakers “who do not have the ability to make a film with such brilliance, intelligence, integrity, and craft.” Varma also took a jibe at so-called pan-India films and masala movies that rely on the same old formula of hero worship, item numbers, and VFX.
