2. Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai

We have seen movies released on OTT platforms after they enjoy a successful run in the theatres. However, this one was an exception. After great response on Zee5, the movie was released in theatres on limited screens. Based on Shri Asaramji rape case, Manoj Bajpayee’s performance will keep you hooked until the end.
3. Bheed

Starring Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Kapur, Bhumi Pednekar and directed by Article 15 fame Anubhav Sinha, Bheed is a hard-hitting movie that showcases the horrific incidents that happened when the first lockdown was imposed during Covid-19 pandemic and how it impacted people. The impact of the movie will stay with you for a long time.
4. Zwigato

Directed by Nandita Das and starring India’s favourite comedian Kapil Sharma and actress Shahana Goswami, Zwigato is a story of a man who lost his job during the pandemic. He is forced to take up the job of food delivery rider. The movie will make you more empathetic towards the delivery boys.
5. 12th Fail
IMDb Rating: 9.2
The noncommercial movie was released only on limited screens but did a fabulous business and became an unexpected hit only because of the positive word of mouth. Many of us might have missed watching this in theatres. For the unversed, it is based on the real-life story of IPS Manoj Kumar.
6. Afwaah
IMDb Rating: 5.6
Directed by Sudhir Mishra who is best known for movies like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Chameli and starring Bhumi Pednekar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sumeet Vyas, Afwaah as the name suggests revolves around a viral social media rumours can ruin lives.
7. Three of Us
IMDb Rating: 8.2
Starring Shefali Shah, Jaideep Ahlawat and Swanand Kirkire, Three Of Us premiered at the International Film Festival of India and won praised. The movie which is based on love, loss, healing, awareness and liberation released in theatres a year later.
