Akshay Kumar recently gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect from the sequel to his 2012 film OMG: Oh My God with a poster and an announcement that the teaser would be released on July 11th.
The upcoming sequel stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, along with Kumar who seems to be reprising his role as a version of God. With the posters amping up fans’ expectations from the movie, it’s safe to say that it’s a season of sequels.
Movies like Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 and Drishyam 2 have already made a mark on Indian audiences and the box office alike and there are a number of sequels in the works now.

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are back together in the sequel to one of Bollywood’s biggest box office hits after two decades. Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is all set to release this August and is already raising anticipation with the remake of the iconic song ‘Tu Ghar Aaja Pardesi’.
Krrish 4
Bollywood’s most popular superhero franchise Krrish is getting a fourth part with Hrithik Roshan, reportedly, playing the role of the hero and villain in the film. It has also been reported that Priyanka Chopra will reprise her role in the movie. In 2021, Roshan had teased fans with a sequel announcement but so far not much has been revealed about the movie.
Fukrey 3
Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Richa Chaddha, Manjot Singh, and Pankaj Tripathi are back together for another instalment in the Fukrey series. The film recently wrapped up production so more information on the release date will be revealed soon.
Ishq Vishk Rebound
The movie that made us all fall in love with Shahid Kapoor is returning with a sequel, this time with new characters and stories. The sequel stars Pashmina Roshan, Rohit Saraf, Jibraan Khan, and Nalia Grewal.
Tiger 3
After seeing Salman Khan’s cameo in Pathaan, we can’t wait to see Tiger back in action with Katrina Kaif’s Zoya in tow. Maneesh Sharma is directing the highly-anticipated sequel with Emraan Hashmi playing the antagonist this time. There’s also a chance we’d get a Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan cameo in the movie since the movies canonically exist in the same universe.
Metro…In Dino
Director Anurag Basu is making a spiritual sequel to his 2007 hit Life in a…Metro with a star-studded cast. The cast includes Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Dream Girl 2
Earlier this year, the makers released the trailer for the sequel to Ayushmann Khurrana’s hit 2019 comedy Dreamgirl. This one will star Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, and Seema Pahwa.
Go Goa Gone 2
Director Dinesh Vijan has confirmed that we are, in fact, getting another part of the beloved stoner comedy Go Goa Gone soon. Though Saif Ali Khan won’t be reprising his role as the fake Russian gangster, the movie will feature many of the original cast members. The director has also revealed that instead of zombies, the movie will revolve around aliens this time. The movie’s original March 2021 release was postponed but, reportedly, it will release this year.
