Celina Jaitly, who last appeared in a lead role in 2011, has hinted at returning to Bollywood after 14 years. Responding to a fan on Instagram, the actress said her comeback is happening “soon,” sending her followers into a frenzy.
After a prolonged hiatus of 14 years from mainstream cinema, actress Celina Jaitly is stirring excitement among her fans with hints of a long-awaited return to Bollywood. Best known for her roles in early 2000s hits like Janasheen, No Entry, and Thank You, Celina was last seen in a lead role in the 2011 romantic comedy Thank You. She made a brief special appearance in the 2012 film Will You Marry Me?, and later appeared in the 2020 short film Season’s Greetings, which premiered on an OTT platform. However, her return to the big screen has remained elusive—until now.
On Friday, Celina took to Instagram to share a deeply personal throwback video from seven years ago, during her second consecutive twin pregnancy. In the video, she is seen on a stair chair lift, candidly showing her struggle with Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), a condition that made it difficult for her to walk. “#Throwback to 6th month of my 2nd consecutive TWIN PREGNANCY (7 years ago). Couldn’t walk because of Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) – Anyone else who had this?” she wrote in the caption.
But it was a fan’s question in the comments that sparked the most excitement. When someone asked, “We miss you a lot. When will you come back to Bollywood?”—Celina simply replied, “Soon 🌹.” That single word was enough to send fans into a frenzy, fueling speculation that the actress may be preparing for a full-fledged Bollywood comeback.
Earlier this year, Celina had briefly returned to Mumbai for what she described as “work-related reasons,” adding more weight to the comeback rumours. In a previous statement, she had candidly spoken about stepping back from the industry, saying, “Having to constantly prove myself, I just got fed up of trying to please everyone and reached a point where I said ‘okay gotta take a break,’ do some other things in life, recharge batteries and then whenever I’m ready, I will come back again.”
While no official project has been announced yet, Celina’s cryptic “soon” and her recent public appearances have certainly rekindled hope among her fans that her Bollywood story is far from over.
