‘Chhaava’ is roaring loudly at the box office. While a string of releases are struggling to make a mark, the Hindi film industry has found solace in a singular, resounding success that is Laxman Utekar directorial historical action film. Headlined by Vicky Kaushal, alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, the film has gone past several box office collection records.

After completing 25 days in theatres, the film shows no signs of slowing down. On its fourth Monday, Chhaava netted Rs 6.25 crore domestically, taking its India total to a staggering Rs 526.05 crore. The Hindi version contributed Rs 5 crore, while the Telugu dub added another Rs 1.25 crore to the tally. Globally, the film has stormed past Rs 700 crore, securing the ninth spot among the top ten highest-grossing Hindi films of all time, as per Bollywood Hungama rankings.

While fourth-week earnings often spell doom for most blockbusters, Chhaava continues to flex its muscles. Though Monday’s collections were 41.86% lower than Sunday’s Rs 10.75 crore haul, the film’s unwavering momentum is commendable. Mounted on a reported budget of Rs 130 crore, Chhaava has already amassed Rs 708.47 crore worldwide — taking over Gaddar 2’s worldwide total.

Adding to its glory, Chhaava is now pacing ahead of Stree 2, last year’s highest-grossing Hindi film. The Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor horror-comedy earned Rs 8.5 crore, Rs 11 crore and Rs 3.25 crore on its fourth Saturday, Sunday and Monday, respectively. In comparison, Chhaava comfortably outperformed it with Rs 16.75 crore, Rs 10.75 crore and Rs 6.25 crore on the corresponding days. The trend suggests that Chhaava could surpass Stree 2 in lifetime collections, which stood at an India net of Rs 597.99 crore and a worldwide gross of Rs 857.15 crore.

However, there’s one chink in Chhaava’s armor — its overseas performance. With international collections totaling just Rs 85 crore, the film lags behind Stree 2, which had amassed Rs 144 crore globally. While domestic dominance is undeniable, Chhaava must rally in international markets to etch its name among Bollywood’s greatest.

For now, though, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer stands tall, unchallenged and unstoppable. With weeks of theatrical run still ahead, Bollywood may have found its biggest winner of 2025.
