When it comes to setting dad goals, the film industry has given us many examples of doting fathers. While they’ve won our hearts with their onscreen portrayals, here’s a look at some dads who have aced the parenting game and broken stereotypes around it in real life.
Ranbir Kapoor:
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their daughter Raha in November 2022 and have been spotted making adorable appearances together. During an episode of Kapil Sharma’s comedy show, the new dad talked about his bond with their daughter and said, “I don’t feel like doing anything (now). I don’t want to shoot, I don’t want to go anywhere. I want to sit at home and just look at her. I haven’t felt like this ever in my life.” He also called himself Raha’s ‘burp specialist.’

Karan Johar:
Filmmaker Karan Johar began his journey as a parent in 2017 when he welcomed his twins, Yash and Roohi, via surrogacy. Since then, Karan has been co-parenting his children with his 81-year-old mom and film producer Hiroo Johar. In a post shared by Johar in 2023, he talked about his journey since the birth of his kids and wrote, “When Roohi and Yash were born I realised my dependency and search for love ended with their arrival into our universe! I celebrate them along with my mother every day. A paternal love story is the most satisfying, unconditional and exceptionally rewarding!”

Tusshar Kapoor:
As a single parent, Tusshar Kapoor loves spending time with his son Laksshya Kapoor, whom he welcomed through surrogacy in 2016. In an interview with TOI, the actor talked about the responsibility of raising a child alone and said that his life has become more active, happier, and more fulfilling now. “He has completed my family, and it has been a very invigorating experience,” he said.

Karan Singh Grover:
Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover welcomed their baby girl Devi in November last year. The duo often share playful videos with their little one and Karan has also expressed that he is a hands-on father when it comes to taking care of their daughter. When the couple announced their pregnancy, Karan penned an emotional note describing his emotions. “It’s a combination of numerous feelings. All new but somehow familiar…not familiar like I’ve done this before but more like I’ve felt this in my most precious, most beautiful dream like almost embedded into my DNA,” he wrote.

Chandrachur Singh:
After the birth of his son Shaarnjai in 2007, actor Chandrachur Singh decided to put his career on hold for a while to focus on his responsibilities as a parent. In an interview, the actor called parenting ‘one of the toughest jobs’ and said, “I believe that I keep learning on the job. Parenting, I think, is one of the toughest jobs. You make mistakes, you have your good moments, you keep learning and try to become better.”
