Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter was the first major Bollywood release in 2024. Expectations were really high for it, but unfortunately, it failed to perform on the expected lines. After that, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya surprised everyone with its performance and emerged as the first success of the year. Even though Fighter has earned over 200 crores in India, the film didn’t turn out to be a theatrical success due to its high budget. This unfortunate outcome gave Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya the honor of being the first successful Bollywood film in 2024.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya started its journey by raking in 7.02 crores. The film benefitted due to favorable reactions from its targeted young audience. Then, the Valentine’s season and some ticket offers kept the momentum intact. It managed to multiply its opening day by more than 12 times to earn 87 crores so far at the Indian box office.

The next film that emerged as a theatrical winner is Yami Gautam and Priyamani’s Article 370. Made at a moderate cost of 40 crores, the film has earned 73.56 crores so far. The political thriller scored full marks when it comes to critics’ reviews as well as audiences’ reactions. This one has multiplied its opening day of 6.12 crores by 12 times.

The latest entrant to the list of successful films is Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s Shaitaan. It received mixed to decent reviews from critics, but as far as the audience reaction is concerned, the film received a thumbs up. Talking about the Indian box office collection, it has multiplied the opening day of 15.21 crores by more than 7 times. It has earned 109.01 crores so far.
