There is no doubt that post the success of Pushpa: The Rise, its sequel is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Allu Arjun even won the National Award for his acting in the film last year. The film was slated to release this year on Independence day, clashing with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. But a few months ago, reports began to trickle that Singham is letting go of the date as their shooting was not complete , thus leaving the slot open for Pushpa. And a few days ago, it was again reported that Pushpa is also leaving the date as they haven’t completed shooting too, thus turning the 15th August weekend open for multiple films like John Abraham’s Vedaa to Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein to Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2.
And now rumors have begun to float that Pushpa which still has more than 2 months of shooting left, has begun to eye the Christmas weekend for its release. The shooting has ben delayed because of ill health of Allu Arjun and took a long time to heal. Christmas usually belongs to Aamir Khan as most of his films like Dhoom 3, PK, Dangal, Ghajini, 3 Idiots have released during that time period, and this time too, he has lined up his comeback film Sitaare Zameen Par directed by RS Prasanna for Christmas. It was already clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to the Jungle and talks have begun about Akshay leaving that date, as per a report in Hindustan Times.
It would now be interesting to see if Pushpa actually clashes with Aamir Khan’s next film or choose another date for itself.
