After 8 long years, reports state that the actor is set to make a much-anticipated return to Bollywood in a film co-starring Vaani Kapoor. The yet-untitled international project, a Hindi romantic-comedy, will be directed by Aarti Bagdi and entirely shot in the UK, as reported by news agency IANS.
A trade source quoted by IANS shared, “Fawad Khan has a massive international pull given his popularity among South Asians worldwide. He has also been a part of the Marvel cinematic universe. Details of this project are being kept under wraps, and everyone is tight-lipped about it.”The source further revealed, “The romantic comedy narrates the story of how two broken people meet by a stroke of luck and end up helping each other, unintentionally falling in love.”
Fawad, known for his roles in Hindi films such as ‘Khoobsurat’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’, and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘, has not starred in a Hindi-language film since 2016.
Aside from his upcoming Bollywood project, Fawad will also be seen in the series ‘
Barzakh‘, that will see him reuniting with his ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ co-star Sanam Saeed. Additionally, the actor will headline a Netflix Original titled ‘Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo’, an adaptation of Farhat Ishtiaq’s bestselling 2013 Urdu-language novel. He will star opposite Mahira Khan and Sanam Saeed.
Fawad was in the news recently when director Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that he had originally planned to cast the Pak actor in his hit series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. The director had expressed his desire to cast the actor, opposite Mahira Khan, however, circumstances led to a change in direction.
