Jyothika is one of leading actresses in India today. The actress made her debut in the early 2000s and she has nearly been part of more than 50 feature films. The actress has made a name for herself in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film industry. But, she last acted in a Hindi film in 1998, which was also her first debut and made a comeback in Bollywood only last year.
The actress in an interview with News 18 Showsha revealed that she did not have filmmakers reaching out to her. The actress said that over 27 years not even one offer she received from Bollywood which made her drift to South Indian films. She said that it was not that she did not want to do Hindi films, just that she was not offered any scripts over two decades.
Jyothika said that her first film in Hindi did not run well in theatres and stressed that the first movie needs to be a success to get more offers. She also noted that despite achieving major stardom in the South film industry, she did not get offers from Bollywood as people thought that she was a South Indian and assumed that she did not want to work in Hindi films. The actress expressed that she is grateful for the film journey.
On the work front, the actress was last seen in the Hindi film ‘Shaitaan’ which marked her comeback in Bollywood after 27 years. The film was a huge success and the actress has signed up for two more films in Hindi,’Srikanth’ and ‘Dabba Cartel’.
