In an unfortunate incident, film editor Nishad Yusuf was found dead at his Kochi home on Wednesday, October 30. As per Malayalam media, his body was found in his apartment in Panampilly Nagar in Kochi around 2 am. The police investigation is underway; however, no cause of death has been revealed as of yet. Yusuf was associated with Suriya and Bobby Deol’s upcoming film, Kanguva. 

The Film Employees Federation of Kerala offered their condolences and wrote on Facebook, “The unexpected demise of Nishadh Yusuf, film editor, who played a major role in determining the contemporary future of the changing Malayalam cinema is not something the film world will be able to quickly accept. Condolences from FEFKA Directors’ Union.”

Nishad Yusuf was a popular film editor in both Malayalam and Tamil film industries, having worked in several notable films such as Uda, Saudi Vellakka and Thallumaala among others. For Thallumaala, he had received the State Award for Best Editor in 2022. Most recently, he was associated with Suriya’s Kanguva and had Mohanlal’s Bazooka in the pipeline.
