In an interview with Ranveer Allahabadia, Kartik shared that nowadays, even individuals from film families aspire to be seen as outsiders. Kartik was asked about the prospect of having children and providing them with the advantages of ‘nepotism.’ The Chandu Champion actor noted that nowadays, everyone, including those from film families, strives to be seen as outsiders.
He added that individuals who have always been part of the industry often have more opportunities to showcase their talent. For instance, if he were from a film family, he would likely have received more exposure and directors might have highlighted his acting abilities differently. This disparity creates an uneven playing field, which never truly existed before, although it may have changed now. He emphasized that it is not anyone’s fault.
Kartik will star in Kabir Khan’s sports biopic Chandu Champion, portraying the titular role of Paralympic Indian Olympian Murlikant Petkar. The film also features Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Aniruddh Dave, Palak Lalwani, and others in significant roles. Kabir Khan co-produced the film with Sajid Nadiadwala under their banners, Kabir Khan Films and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Chandu Champion is set to release worldwide on June 14.
Kartik will also appear in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, scheduled for release during Diwali 2024. Directed by Anees Bazmi, the horror-comedy stars Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan. The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
